Classes

Three Year Olds will meet three days (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday) from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM. A gentle introduction to school and socializing is the goal, with shared playtime, painting, singing and reading as primary components. The concepts of colors, letters and shapes are also introduced. Holidays and seasonal themes are explored with stories, artwork and science.

Four Year Olds meet three times a week (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday) from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM. Their bright and sunny classroom provides an environment for playtime, socialization, creative expression and a more structured learning environment. The curriculum includes Scholastic’s “MY BIG WORLD” as well as science and seasonal themes. Work with letters, numbers and patterns is also included.

The Pre-K class for five year olds meets 5 days a week from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM. This class is specifically designed to prepare children for Kindergarten. There is a greater emphasis on structured play and cognitive learning. Letter and number recognition, writing skills and fine motor skills are a major part of the program. The teachers strive to develop independence so each child has a better sense of self and accomplishment. Art work and structured seat work are displayed in the room to showcase effort and creativity.

We are currently accepting registrations for

Sept. 2023 - June 2024 school year.

Llanerch Presbyterian Preschool welcomes all children between the ages of 3 through 5. The certified and experienced staff provides a nurturing and warm atmosphere for learning and growth.

Creative play, art science, music, movement and story time are incorporated into the curriculum to help each child develop their social, emotional, physical and intellectual abilities.

History

The Preschool has been part of Llanerch Presbyterian Church's Mission for over 60 years, serving children and families in Havertown and the surrounding communities. It is a small, not for profit school of 25 to 30 children with a teacher - student ratio of 2 to 10.

The preschool is adjacent to the church and is a two-story structure with large, airy classrooms and big, sun-filled windows.

Community Outreach

By participating in community outreach programs, the children learn about sharing and caring with neighbors and friends.

Throughout the year donations of food are collected and shared with neighboring families at one of the local food banks.

During the Christmas Season a “Mitten Tree” is decorated with donations from the children with mittens, hats and gloves which are donated to the Spanish Migrant Workers of Southern Chester County.

Socks are collected during the winter months for the homeless guests of “Connect-by-Night”, a Presbyterian Church of Llanerch outreach project.

The three-year-old children made cookies to raise funds for Heifer International.
